Dr. Andrew R. Bruening
Dr. Andrew R. Bruening is the owner of Chesterfield Hilltown Dental, the office that his uncle founded in 1989. He remembers shadowing his aunt and uncle as a teenager when he decided he wanted to be a dentist. He is from St. Charles, MO and joined his uncle in practice back in May 2014. Dr. Bruening studied Food Science & Nutrition at the University of Missouri - Columbia before graduating with honors from University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry. The Iowa Dental Association named Dr. Bruening an honor clinician at their regional dental conference, and the Midwest Dental Conference awarded him 3rd place for table clinic presentations. In 2013, he traveled to Uganda for a dental mission trip and is planning to do future work in Africa, South America, and Thailand.
Dr. Bruening has always had a love for art and science, considering himself a true “nerd”, feels that being a dentist allows him to combine both of those appreciations into a career. His favorite part of being a Dentist is changing/making a positive impact on someone's life. Getting someone out of pain or giving someone a smile they can show off, is extremely rewarding for him.
Outside of the office, Dr. Bruening enjoys traveling, photography, reading, cooking, brewing beer, playing golf, and spending time with his wife. He likes to read a lot of dental related things, and is an avid reader in general. He is an alumnus of Psi Omega dental fraternity and is currently working towards a Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Carissa J. Bruening
Dr. Carissa J. Bruening is from the small town of Fredonia, in southeast Kansas. She attended Kansas State University and earned a degree in Kinesiology/Pre-Dentistry, in 2012. From there, she attended UMKC School of Dentistry and graduated with honors last May. She joined her husband, Dr. Andrew Bruening, in practice this past June. When Carissa was 15, the dentist in her hometown asked her to work in his office over the summer. That experience sparked her interest in the career and she has loved dentistry ever since. When asked her favorite part of dentistry, she explained that she loves the patient interaction and meeting new people. She also feels great pride in restoring a smile and healing pain.
Dr. Carissa genuinely enjoys the education side of dentistry. She considers it an important part of our job as oral health care providers to educate our patients on how to take care of their teeth, gums, and overall health. In her free time, you can find Carissa cheering on K-State (Go Cats!), playing various sports to stay active, and occasionally binge watching various shows on Netflix. Dr. Carissa also spends a lot of time hanging out with her husband, Dr. Andrew Bruening. Whether they are traveling across the world or just sitting on their couch, time with him is always her favorite. They do not have any children or fur-babies, yet, but they do have two beautiful nieces and one nephew on the way!!
Amanda is from Florissant, Missouri and she graduated from STLCC Forest Park in 2015, and started with us in October 2015. Amanda was a dental assistant for two years before going to dental hygiene school.
In addition to being a board certified dental hygienist, Amanda also has her license in Local Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide. Spending many years as a patient in the Orthodontic & Dental office, sparked her interest in the field. She loves being a hygienists, and her favorite part of the job is getting to know each patient on a personal level.
Amanda lives in O’Fallon and enjoys staying active with volleyball, running, dancing, and bowling. She also enjoys watching the St. Louis Blues & spending time with her family.
Amanda is a member of the American Dental Hygienist Association, Missouri Dental Hygienist Association, and the Great St. Louis Dental Hygienist Association.
Chris is our Office Coordinator who has been with the practice since 1988. Chris is from Festus and attended Festus High School. She has had an interest in dental since before she can remember, and even remembers pulling classmates loose teeth at recess as a young child!
Chris joined our practice immediately after graduating Missouri College for Dental Assisting and married her high school sweetheart 6 months later. Together, Chris and her husband have a son, daughter, 1 granddaughter, and a dog.
She enjoys float trips, car shows, and spending time with her family! Chris’ favorite part of her job is the patient interaction she gets on a daily basis.
Caitlin is the Practice Representative at Chesterfield Hilltown Dental who started with us in July 2016. She and her husband met while attending the University of Kentucky, where she was born and raised. Caitlin married her husband in May of 2014, and they moved to St. Louis shortly after so he could start his Chiropractic Schooling. Caitlin and Kevin have a daughter, Callan, who was born in January 2016, and an Olde English Bulldogge, Hank.
Caitlin has a long history in the Orthodontic field, starting working for her former practice in Kentucky at the age of 15 and staying for 8 years. Caitlin loves interacting with patients and other offices.
She is a self-proclaimed extrovert who loves learning about patient’s families, backgrounds, and personal lives. In her free time, Caitlin loves being active, cooking big meals, hosting parties, watching college basketball & football (Go Cats!), and of course spending time with her family.
Megan started working as a dental assistant for her childhood dentist after attending classes at Anthem College. Megan’s favorite parts of her job include working with people, talking to patients, and doing lab work.
In their free time, Megan loves going out to her family's 100 acre property in Annapolis and spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, off-roading, camping and shooting guns.
Although she doesn’t have children, Megan has quite a few mouths to feed. Her fur-babies include a dog, cat, and 2 rabbits.
Lisa is from St. Louis, and graduated from Lindenwood University with a Bachelors in Elementary and Special Education. After teaching, Lisa decided to make a career change and attended Missouri College for Dental Assisting.
An amazing dentist as a child inspired her to join the dental field. Lisa’s favorite part of assisting is being able to work with different patients and learning who they are.
In her free time, Lisa enjoys going to the gym with her husband and playing with their 3 dogs & 1 cat.
